Description
In this mini-session, with Q and A – Kate Cook, nutritional expert of 22 years, brings her anthropological interests to the fore to discuss the meaning of food to create strong social bonds. You may know how important it is for humans to socialise, not least to exchange epigenetic messages (environmental switches that switch on and off genetics), some of which even can help prime our immune systems. Eating together, creating meaning from food, embracing food traditions can be an important part to create health through community and strong social bonds. Face to face interaction stimulates mirror neurons, which we can only do by looking into someone’s eyes. Kate firmly believes that the company that eats together, stays together. This session is 30 mins with Q and A but can also be an hour.Kate Cook
